if i can remember correctly, he wanted to keep a boundary? I am sure it was for the role after David but I also believe that, since he is Sherlock Holmes and already seen as an iconic figure, he wouldn’t want to do something like that again. And I also believe that he’s far too busy with Star Trek and some other stuff.
